We are formalizing our CSUCI Hybrid Faculty Mentoring Network involving all interested tenure-track and lecturer faculty. The purpose of this program is to create a network of colleagues to facilitate professional and supportive faculty relationships. Interested mentoring advocates and rising scholars will connect in non-discipline specific “nodes” (rising scholar/mentoring advocate pairs) that work together to build healthy mentoring relationships and a supportive network to provide avenues for success in the careers of our rising scholars at CSU Channel Islands.

I am starting to feel like I am able to navigate the CI culture because of the support from my mentor. It has been a very steep learning curve and not an easy process. However, I have taken action steps to connect more to others at CI and to help foster more team building in my program.”

In order to create a community of safe-virtual spaces, we invite mentoring advocates and rising scholars to join our Canvas discussions.

Community is a sense of identity and belonging to a group that provides support for your goals, values, and expectations.”

My mentor provided insights and tips that I wouldn’t actively seek myself. It changed my life. “
